On Thursday, 17 May 2018, the Chair of the Legal Affairs and Community Safety parliamentary committee tabled our audit report of Ipswich City Council’s compliance with the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).
We made 12 recommendations.

This annual awareness-raising week (21-25 May) is urging all Australians to be on the lookout for threat-based impersonation scams. These scams are common and can often be traumatic for the victim. Typically, these scammers pretend to be from a government agency or well-known company. Their aim is to scare you into handing over your money or personal information and if you don’t, they threaten you with fines, internet disconnection, arrest or even deportation.
