Four new IPOLA Quick Guides now available
To help Queensland public sector agencies and staff prepare for the IPOLA reforms, OIC has published several quick guides designed to provide a short summary of the incoming changes to the Right to Information Act and the Information Privacy Act.
Four new Quick Guides are now available on our IPOLA Guidelines webpage and these include:
- Right to Information Amendments Quick Guide (PDF, 162.5 KB)
- Information Privacy Reforms Quick Guide (PDF, 182.11 KB)
- Mandatory Notification of Data Breach Scheme Quick Guide (PDF, 882.23 KB)
- Definition of Personal Information Quick Guide (PDF, 136.86 KB)
Public sector staff are encouraged to use the range of IPOLA guidelines and resources to help broaden their understanding and knowledge of the incoming changes.
Most IPOLA reforms will come into effect from 1 July 2025, however the MNDB scheme will begin a year later for local government on 1 July 2026.
The best way to stay up-to-date with the latest IPOLA guidelines, resources and news is through the weekly OIC newsletter and quarterly IPOLA newsletter, which is next due for release in November.
