IPOLA Transitional guidelines
Alert: The guidelines on this page do not reflect the current law. They reflect the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) as they existed before 1 July 2025, when they were amended by the Information Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2023 (Qld) (IPOLA).
The Office of the Information Commissioner has made these guidelines available to assist:
- agencies and Ministers with access and amendment applications received and not finalised prior to 1 July 2025
- agencies and Minister managing privacy compliance issues which occurred prior to 1 July 2025; and
- bound contracted service providers to whom the pre-1 July 2025 version of the IP Act continues to apply.
