The RTI Act overrides confidentiality provisions of other Acts. However, schedule 3, section 12 of the RTI Act recognises certain provisions that prohibit disclosing information.

Under schedule 3, section 12, information is exempt information if its disclosure is prohibited by any of the listed provisions, unless the information is personal information for the applicant.

Schedule 4, part 3, item 22 RTI Act
Schedule 4, part 3, item 22 of the RTI Act recognises as a public interest factor favouring nondisclosure, that disclosing the relevant information is prohibited by an Act.
