Privacy Impact Assessment workshop – new date and venue

June 13, 2023 - 10:16am

OIC will be conducting a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) workshop face-to-face on 27 June 2023 in Brisbane. This is a rescheduling of a previously advertised workshop (originally set down for 4 July), due to an unforeseen change of venue.

The PIA workshop will help to identify and assess the privacy impacts of any initiative or project that involves personal information, and evaluate compliance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).

It will provide participants with the opportunity to understand how to incorporate a Privacy by Design approach into a PIA, and the benefits of building in privacy requirements in the initial stages of a project or when reviewing existing projects undergoing significant changes.

Participants will explore, through undertaking a scenario-based PIA, how to approach best-practice and scalable privacy impact assessments, underpinned by proven risk mitigation techniques.

Practitioners are encouraged to register, including those who previously registered for the original workshop in July, as expressions of interest won’t automatically be carried over to the new date.
