New IPOLA training resources now available

Published recordings and presentation slides are now available for the:

• MNDB scheme template rollout workshops (held on 15 May)
• RTI webinar on reviewable decisions and judicial functions (held on 21 May).

These resources are available on our IPOLA training webpage.

In addition, and in response to stakeholder feedback, we have tested, and are now making available, a new online training module titled ‘Overview of the IPOLA Act Reforms’, published as a SCORM file.

A SCORM file (short for Shareable Content Object Reference Model file) is a ZIP file containing a collection of learning materials and metadata packaged according to the SCORM standard, designed to be uploaded for use within a Learning Management System.

This online module offers a comprehensive explanation of the recent amendments to both the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) and the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) including:

• A summary of the newly introduced Queensland Privacy Principles
• An overview of the Mandatory Notification of Data Breach (MNDB) scheme
• Significant changes to the RTI Act.

This training module is time sensitive and will therefore only be available until 30 June 2025.
