Final call to register for Stage 2 IPOLA training
OIC is finalising preparations for the rollout of the IPOLA Stage 2 – Build Knowledge training, which will start next week.
We strongly encourage all regional practitioners and stakeholders to register now, as there are minimum attendance requirements in place to ensure face-to-face training can proceed.
Beginning on the Sunshine Coast on Monday 28 October, the team will visit a range of locations in regional and South-East Queensland including Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Logan and Longreach.
Building on the information provided in Stage 1 – Awareness training, this next stage offers three focused training modules: Mandatory Notification of Data Breach (MNDB) scheme, Queensland Privacy Principles (QPPs), and Right to Information (RTI) reforms. It is relevant to staff in the following areas:
- Privacy or RTI practitioners
- ICT management and cyber security (noting the new MNDB requirements)
- Other public sector staff who could be involved in these processes, including those working in records, risk, compliance or legal.
The training is provided free of charge.
If you work in a Queensland public sector agency and would like to attend, please register now for the Stage 2 training.
More information about the IPOLA Act reforms can be found on the Queensland legislation website and on our dedicated IPOLA webpage, which also includes a range of guidelines and a recording of the Stage 1 training.
