Sufficiency of search

The applicant raised a 'sufficiency of search' issue regarding the existence of additional documents recording student counselling and consulting psychologist appointments she attended while enrolled as a student in 2000-2001.

As a result of the searches and enquiries undertaken during the course of the review, one additional document was located.  Applying the principles stated in Shepherd and Department of Housing, Local Government & Planning (1994) 1 QAR 464, Assistant Commissioner Barker was satisfied that the searches and inquiries by the University to locate additional documents had been reasonable in all the circumstances of the case, and that there were no reasonable grounds for believing that additional documents existed in the University's possession or under its control.
