RTI Commissioner Winson reappointed
The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Stephanie Winson as the Right to Information Commissioner for a further two-year term, commencing on 16 January 2026.
The reappointment, confirmed by the Attorney-General, reflects Stephanie’s exceptional leadership of the Right to Information Group and her ongoing commitment to promoting transparency and safeguarding information rights for Queenslanders.
Ms Winson has been instrumental in driving the OIC’s mission to uphold the principles of the Right to Information Act. Her dedication to fostering a culture of transparency and ensuring the protection of information rights has been invaluable to the organisation and the broader community.
Ms Winson expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to continue in the role, saying:
"I am honoured to be reappointed as the Right to Information Commissioner and to continue working with the talented and dedicated team at the OIC. Together, we will remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and the protection of information rights for all Queenslanders."
Information Commissioner, Joanne Kummrow, also welcomed the reappointment, stating:
"Stephanie has been an outstanding leader within the OIC and a valued member of our Executive Leadership Team. Her expertise and unwavering dedication to transparency and accountability have made a significant contribution to the Office. I look forward to continuing our work together to advance the rights of access to information and build the public’s trust in government."
Ms Winson was appointed as Right to Information Commissioner in January 2023.
