OIC website changes from 1 July with commencement of IPOLA reforms

June 30, 2025 - 12:35pm

To support go-live of the IPOLA Act reforms, OIC’s website will undergo important content changes from 30 June to reflect the new legislation.

What will change?

  • From 1 July, the current IPOLA webpage designed to help agencies prepare for the reforms will be amended. Some existing IPOLA resources will be retained to help agencies through the transition, and to assist in preparations for the local government mandatory notification of data breach (MNDB) scheme, which will commence on 1 July 2026.
  • Guidelines, information sheets, and annotated legislation will be updated or replaced based on the IPOLA changes. Links should not break and if you have a guideline bookmarked it will still work. If the guideline has been replaced, it will redirect to the most relevant new guideline.
  • A set of core, pre-IPOLA access and amendment guidelines and privacy principles guidelines (and some information sheets) will remain available as PDFs on a separate part of the website. These will be clearly marked and have a disclaimer and watermark.

We recommend you do not rely on previously downloaded resources, as these may not reflect the IPOLA reforms.
