Let’s create positive online spaces this Safer Internet Day

January 27, 2026 - 9:27am

Every year Safer Internet Day (SID) is led by the eSafety Commissioner in Australia with more than 180 other countries also supporting the global campaign to raise awareness and encourage everyone to help make the internet a safer, more positive place.

OIC will join countless other public sector agencies, schools, businesses and organisations across the country to mark Safer Internet Day on 10 February 2026.

With the prevalence of online abuse and new threats emerging daily, online safety is more important than ever.

SID highlights the need to continually adapt our online safety practices in an ever-evolving digital world.

In the lead up to SID 2026, OIC will be sharing helpful resources with staff and having conversations about online safety tips (no matter your age).

We will also encourage parents and carers to check out the eSafety Commissioner’s range of webinars for helpful advice and information.

Over on OIC’s LinkedIn channel, we will also be sharing online safety tips like updating privacy settings on devices and apps, using strong passwords and parental controls to keep your online space safe.
