Get ready for Information Awareness Week

March 6, 2024 - 11:32am

OIC will be recognising Information Awareness Week from 18 to 22 March 2024, and the important role that information plays in our lives, while also shining a light on information management.

Information Awareness Week invites professionals from a range of industries across the world to come together and support the theme ‘Information Management (IM) The Next Wave: Leading the Future”.

With the world’s increasing thirst for information, the 2024 theme sets the tone for a forward-looking exploration of the information management landscape.

While more and more information is being held by public sector agencies, not-for-profits, businesses, education institutions and so on, there is an increasing need for information management practices to keep pace with the changing world.

Information Awareness Week is an opportunity to bring together collective expertise on the subject and innovate.

2024 sets a new direction for the celebration, moving from a month-long event in May to a week in March.

Information is a huge focus area for OIC and the work we carry out as an independent integrity agency. Timely and easy access to information is fundamental to a democratic society, promotes transparency and accountability and allows citizens to make informed decisions about matters affecting them.
