Get involved in Data Privacy Week!

January 24, 2022 - 8:10am

Data Privacy Week starts today (24 January) and you can get involved at home, at work and in your community. Take action, help create a culture of privacy and support Data Privacy Week’s theme of respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust. This year, individuals are encouraged to “Own Your Privacy” by learning more about how to help protect the valuable data that is online, and for government agencies and businesses to “Respect Privacy”.

Queensland’s new Privacy Commissioner Paxton Booth said, “Data Privacy Week is a great reminder for everyone to revisit how they not only safeguard their own data but the data of others they might be entrusted with.”

“A good place to start is knowing how your personal information will be used by Queensland government agencies, internet sites or mobile apps you interact with,” Mr Booth said.
