The report outlines our performance for the financial year ending 30 June 2026 and marks the first full year of our Strategic Plan 2025–29, guided by our vision, Informed Community, Accountable Government.
Demand for our services reached unprecedented levels in 2025–26. We received and finalised a record number of information access and privacy matters and received 50 mandatory data breaches in the first year of the scheme. In addition, we:
- responded to 5,512 enquiries from the community and public sector staff
- uplifted our education services with new community videos and online training modules for public sector staff, and an in-person training program delivered regionally and in south-east Queensland.
- made 15 written submissions to government inquiries and reviews and participated in 15 formal consultations
- tabled 3 reports in Parliament containing 30 recommendations
We continued our implementation of a new case management system, streamlined our processes throughout the year to ensure a clear focus on our delivery of timely review and complaint services to the community. In addition, we continued to mature our regulatory position and broader impact through our education services and regulatory activities.
Our digital transformation was demonstrated through the launch of an agency portal for data breach notifications and document exchange and a new, accessible website that enhances our communication and engagement with the community, agencies and stakeholders.
The annual report complies with the prescribed requirements of the Financial Accountability Act 2009 and the Financial and Performance Management Standard 2019, and the Annual report requirements for Queensland Government agencies.
