Public sector agencies and Queenslanders are being encouraged to support Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) coming up from 4-10 May 2026.
This year’s theme is Smarttech, smarter choices: Protecting your privacy in the age of AI. It focuses on the choices we make around technology, privacy and the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI).
OIC has released PAW resources and collateral to help raise awareness about privacy rights and responsibilities. They encourage agencies and the community to take a proactive approach to protecting personal information – whether it is their own, or information held by an agency.
During PAW, OIC will release recorded presentations focusing on specific privacy topics or stakeholders (including public sector staff, local councils, senior executives and the community).
Everyone has a role to play in supporting PAW 2026 and together we can help build a strong culture of privacy awareness across Queensland.
Check out the PAW webpage to find out more and download resources including a poster, screensaver, video call background and social media shareables.
