The RTI Act does not apply to the named entities listed in schedule 2, part 1, or to the entities or kinds of entities in relation to the functions listed in schedule 2, part 2.
An entity may decide that an application is outside the scope of the RTI Act if the entity is one to which the Act does not apply under section 17 and schedule 2 of the RTI Act.
This provision states that the entity must give prescribed written notice to the applicant of the decision that the application is outside the scope of the Act within 10 business days after the purported application is received.
