Timeframes, fees and information sharing covered in latest release of IPOLA guidelines

Queensland public sector agencies are preparing for upcoming changes to the Information Privacy Act and the Right to Information Act as part of the IPOLA Act reforms, and OIC continues to provide support to agencies by publishing more guidelines online.

The latest IPOLA guidelines focus on the Right to Information Act and the Information Privacy Act and include:

RTI guidelines

• Timeframes under the RTI Act

• Fees and charges under the RTI Act

• Deletion of irrelevant information

• Processing applications from prisoners

IP guideline

• Information sharing between agencies, law enforcement and disaster events

OIC has now published 70 Guidelines to help the public sector prepare for the IPOLA reforms, which predominantly start on 1 July 2025.
