OIC to mark Queensland Women’s Week and International Women’s Day

February 26, 2025 - 2:10pm

Queensland Women’s Week (QWW) is a chance for people across the state to come together to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women and girls across Queensland.

Celebrations run from 2 to 9 March 2025, with a highlight being International Women’s Day on 8 March. On that day, Queenslanders will join millions of others throughout the world to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future.

This year’s theme, March Forward, is a celebration of women and girls who have stood up to be heard, and acknowledges the fundamental right of every woman and girl to equally participate and be safe in all areas of society including education, the economy and workforce, politics, and importantly, at home.

OIC will be marking these important occasions and is proud to acknowledge that since its inception, our agency has had a majority of women in key leadership positions.

During the week, staff will be encouraged to watch keynotes and information sessions, and we will also be sharing important messages on our LinkedIn channel.

Our agency encourages everyone to celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity.
