Queensland public sector staff who have engaged with us in the past, or attended IPOLA Stage 1 – Awareness training, should have received an invitation via email to attend further training, Stage 2 – Build Knowledge, which will be rolled out over the coming weeks.
Stage 2 is modular in approach to provide a deeper understanding of the Mandatory Notification of Data Breach (MNDB) scheme, Queensland Privacy Principles (QPPs), and Right to Information (RTI) reforms.
Public sector staff are encouraged to follow the links in the invitation to register for these sessions and secure their place.
The training builds on the information provided in Stage 1 – Awareness, and is relevant to staff in the following areas:
If you did not receive an invitation, work in a Queensland public sector agency and would like to attend, please email ipola.training@oic.qld.gov.au. The training is provided free of charge.
The Stage 2 rollout will begin on the Sunshine Coast in the week commencing 28 October 2024 and will visit a range of locations in regional and South-East Queensland including Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Logan and Longreach.
We strongly encourage all regional practitioners and stakeholders to register now. We have minimum attendance requirements in place to ensure face-to-face training can proceed.
Early registrations for Brisbane have been well over capacity, so we look forward to updating you soon regarding potential additional Brisbane training dates, subject to venue availability.
