Media release: OIC welcomes review of RTI and IP Acts

The Office of the Information Commissioner welcomes the Attorney-General’s announcement to conduct a review of the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009. It is important Queensland has a contemporary legislative framework which protects the community from harm and also reflects their needs and expectations. We look forward to participating in the process and contributing to a more open, transparent and accountable government that protects and respects personal information, including the right to privacy.

We encourage Queenslanders to participate in this consultation process. View a copy of the discussion paper and information about making a submission.
