Masterclass: The Fatal First 15 – Setting up for success at the front end of processing an access application

Overview:
This face-to-face masterclass will explore the pitfalls and opportunities that arise in the first stages of application handling. From engaging with applicants to dealing with issues of scope and conducting successful searches for documents, this workshop will provide practitioners with the tools to start the application process right.

Questions, discussion and shared learning is encouraged.

The masterclass is aimed at RTI/IP decision makers who process access and amendment applications.

Learning objectives:

  • Triaging applications – how to make the most of your time
  • A question of validity
  • Engaging with applicants – how, when and why
  • Scope it out
  • Searching for documents – the benefits of getting it right first time.

Facilitators: Experienced officers from the OIC’s Information & Assistance and External Review teams will conduct the workshop.

When: 9:30am to 11:00am, Tuesday 22 November 2022
