2017 Privacy Awareness Week Launch

Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is an annual event for the Asia Pacific region providing an opportunity for individuals and government agencies to promote a culture that protects and respects the privacy of individuals’ personal information and to more generally raise privacy awareness.

On 15 May 2017, PAW was officially launched by the Hon Yvette D’Ath MP, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for Training and Skills. The event was hosted by the Office of the Information, Queensland and included a keynote presentation from Ms Elizabeth Denham, United Kingdom Information Commissioner. Other speakers included Ms Rosalyn Bell, Assistant Commissioner, Australian Productivity Commission, Mr Corey Monaghan, Senior Director, eHealth Queensland, Queensland Information Commissioner Rachael Rangihaeata and Queensland Privacy Commissioner Philip Green.
