Media release: Sharing and Engaging in the Digital World—30 August 2011

On Thursday September 15, the Office of the Information Commissioner and Department of Public Works will host Andrew Stott, former UK Government Director for Transparency and Digital Engagement, in a series of events targeting key Queensland public sector employees. Andrew Stott will share his experience with transparency and open data in government.

Participants will consider the barriers, benefits and risks of releasing public sector information and sharing government-held information when using Web 2.0 to increase collaboration between the Queensland government and citizens of the digital world.

Andrew Stott is well known for his role in implementing the UK Government's programme for transparency and open data; for increasing the Government's capacity to use new media to communicate and collaborate with the public and for knowledge management and collaboration within the Civil Service.
