Media release: Follow-up of 2010 Review of TransLink’s Disclosure of 'Go Card' Information—2 August 2011

The follow-up report by Queensland’s Office of the Information Commissioner to the 2010 review of TransLink Transit Authority’s personal information handling practices in releasing personal go card information to the Queensland Police Service was tabled in Parliament today.

TransLink and QPS report that they have met or exceeded the requirements of all recommendations raised in the original review.

Privacy Commissioner Linda Matthews said, “Under the system now in place, commuters’ personal information will be protected to the fullest extent possible under the law.”
