The Opt-Out Period for the Australian Government’s ‘My Health Record’ is open now

The Australian Government’s My Health Record system has changed from an opt-in model, to an opt-out one.

The My Health Record is an online summary of an individual’s key health information including allergies, medical conditions, treatments, medication details, advance care planning documents, test and scan reports.

By the end of 2018 a record will be created for every Australian as a default.

The opt-out period is now open and will close on 15 October 2018.
