The 2021 Solomon Lecture – Solving Public Problems with Data
The Solomon Lecture is back in 2021. We’re pleased to present Professor Beth Simone Noveck delivering the 2021 Solomon Lecture on ‘Solving Public Problems with Data’.
Beth Noveck is a Professor in the Technology, Culture, and Society department at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. She served in the Obama White House as the first United States Deputy Chief Technology Officer and Director of the White House Open Government Initiative. UK Prime Minister David Cameron later appointed her senior advisor for Open Government.
In her talk, Beth will discuss how a focus on public problem solving and improving people’s lives changes how we think about data. She will discuss specific policy prescriptions for creating a right to know that fosters better government, stronger citizenship and more agile solutions to contemporary challenges.
The Solomon Lecture will be a virtual event and Beth’s presentation can be viewed on our website from 28 September.
