Review of privacy in complaint handling systems
Queensland’s Office of the Information Commissioner’s (OIC) review of privacy in government complaint handling systems was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday, 1 April 2014.
The review examined how privacy obligations have been incorporated in Queensland government agencies complaints handling systems. Six agencies were selected for an in-depth review on the basis of the quality of their complaint handling documentation available online.
The resulting review report showcases the good privacy practices of these agencies.
The report recommends that agencies consider the good privacy practices identified in the report and incorporate these practices into their complaint management systems.
The report also provides a benchmark for future OIC reviews of information privacy compliance of complaint management in agencies.
