Building “Trust through Transparency” - a message from the Information Commissioner
Building Trust through Transparency is important for all Queensland Government Agencies. Strong Right to Information practices help embed the legislative principals, meet community expectations and ensure a more responsive, accountable and open government.
This year, Right to Information Day will be celebrated from 24 – 28 September. It is an opportunity to remind Queenslanders about their right to access government-held information, as well as the government’s responsibility to release information, unless contrary to the public interest.
The Office of the Information Commissioner encourages all government agencies to conduct their activities with openness, transparency and accountability. They are the key foundations of good governance and the benefits of community trust and engagement are indisputable.
