Commencement dates proclaimed and new Regulations

The Right to Information and Information Privacy Act proclamations and regulations were made on 25 June 2009.  The proclamations fix 1 July 2009 as the commencement date for both Acts, with the exception of certain provisions which relate to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and chapter 5 of the Information Privacy Act which relates to privacy complaints.  The regulations prescribe various operational requirements for the Acts, including fees and charges, evidence of identity and reporting requirements.

The proclamations and regulations are available from the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel website.
