Cross jurisdictional study - community attitudes on information access

Woolcott Research was commissioned in 2019, 2021 and again in 2023 to investigate the public’s awareness and experience of the right to access information held by government agencies in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD and WA.

Transparency: Occasional Paper Series

The Transparency Occasional Paper Series (Series) objectively evaluates the available evidence as to whether openness can be a far more powerful tool than secrecy in serving the public interest. Where transparency can be used as a tool, the Series also identifies the practical application and the lessons learnt so far.

Importantly, this Series seeks to articulate the case for transparency by showing how transparency can be used as a means to the end.
