Meetings with the Parliamentary Committee

The Information Commissioner is an officer of the Queensland Parliament and reports to the Parliament through the Parliamentary Law, Justice and Safety Committee (LJSC – formerly the Legal, Constitutional and Administrative Review Committee (LCARC). The Information Commissioner is independent of the executive government.

The Information Commissioner meets with LJSC twice per year, pre Budget and after the Office's Annual Report is tabled.

LJSC is a permanent statutory committee of the Queensland Parliament. It is established by the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001 (Qld).

The main object of the provisions of the Act concerning parliamentary committees is to enhance the accountability of public administration in Queensland.
